Technology Education and Learning Support (TEALS) is a Digital Moment program in partnership with Microsoft Philanthropies that builds sustainable computer science (CS) programs in high schools, with a focus on serving students who are excluded from learning CS because of race, gender, or geography.

About the TEALS Program

Technology Education and Learning Support (TEALS) believes all students should have equitable access to an inclusive computer science education, creating a pathway to economic opportunity. The program helps classroom teachers learn to teach computer science on their own, pairing them with industry volunteers and proven curriculum. Since its launch in Canada in 2018, more than 1,000 high school students have received social science training through TEALS. In Canada, TEALS is currently offered in the British Columbia region.

TEALS Program provides to schools:

a sustained access to volunteers with deep knowledge of CS and industry experience;

a supportive community that allows teachers to build their subject matter knowledge;

rigorous curricula and resources approved by CS educators and industry professionals;

resources and training to develop diverse and inclusive CS classrooms; and

personalized support from a dedicated Regional Manager.
